Nearly 20,000 non-teaching staff in public secondary schools may not be paid salaries at the end of this month following the delay in disbursement of funds for the subsidised secondary education programme.
The delay has left the institutions in a financial crisis that could also affect teachers serving under Parent Teachers Associations as well as payments to suppliers. It could also force temporary closure of some institutions.
