Mendefera

A micro-dam in Adi-Kemene, Mendefera sub-zone, which was destroyed by heavy rains is now being rebuilt, according to Eng. Tesfalidet Habteyohannes, supervisor of the project.

The micro-dam with a capacity of holding 150,000 cubic meters of water is being reconstructed jointly by the administration of the sub-zone and partners.

The Administrator of Mendefera sub-zone, Mr. Andemariam Mihretab, indicated that the local inhabitants are taking active participation in the undertaking. He also stated that the micro-dam would provide potable water supply to the inhabitants of Adi-Tsaeda, Adi Kemene and Mai-Harmaz. In addition, the micro-dam would play a major role in promoting irrigation farming in nearby areas.
