Edi — A mini-hospital is under construction in Edi, Central Denkalia sub-zone, at a cost of 12 million Nakfa.
The hospital is equipped with 30 bedrooms, delivery room and child vaccination rooms, laboratory, as well as HIV/AIDS blood test and residential houses for staff members.
The branch head of the Health Ministry in the Southern Red Sea region, Mr. Afwerki Berhe, pointed out that the mini-hospital would provide medical service to the inhabitants of Afambo, Beilul and other villages who previously were compelled to travel to Assab to obtain health services.
So far, 60% of the project has been finalized and that it is expected to go operational in the near future. Edi is located 185 km north of the port city of Assab.
