The Olympic squad will play against Japan whereas the main squad will phase Mexico.
As part of preparations for the forth coming Olympic Games in China, the national Olympic football squad is scheduled to play a friendly match against Japan. The match to be played on June 12, 2008 will take place in Japan. Meanwhile negotiations are underway for another friendly, this time involving the national football team, the Indomitable Lions. If things work out well then Cameroon will have to face Mexico during the next FIFA period reserved for friendly matches on March 28. The match is planned to take place in Europe but on city has yet been designated to host the event.
It is worthy to note that there is no respite for the national team coach, Otto Pfister, who flew to Europe after the defeat at the finals of the African cup of nations in Ghana, to continue prospecting players for the national team. As the saying goes, charity begins at home. Otto Pfister started his prospection mission in Europe from his home country, Germany where he is observing the performance of young Cameroonian players in the first two divisions of the Bundesliga, notably Choupo-Moting.
The friendly matches are intended to keep the players fit for action and build a collective play style as the poor showing at Africa most prestigious football jamboree was attributed to lack of adequate preparation.
