Liberia: Kenya-Based Organization Donates FPAL

Monrovia — The International Planned Parenthood Federation Africa Regional Office based in Nairobi, Kenya has donated a huge of laboratory equipment to the Family Planning Association of Liberia.

According to release, the laboratory equipment valued over twenty nine thousand United States Dollars (US$29,000.00).

Speaking during the presentation ceremony, the Director of Programs International Planned Parenthood Federation Africa Regional office, Sanda Qjiambo, said the donation is intended to strengthen the capacity of the Family Planning Association of Liberia.

He noted that the equipment will be used to also setup modern laboratory at the Association's Clinic in Kakata, Margibi County. The release further quotes FPAL officials as saying that the donation would also help the association in the support and implementation of its five years strategic Plan.

Family Planning Association of Liberia has however stated that it remains a strong, dynamic, leading and credible institution in the advocacy of sexual and reproductive health and rights in Liberia. Meanwhile, the United Nation Fund for Population Activities (UNFPAL) Sponsored Youth Clinic in Kakata has officially opened to the public.
