Massawa

The Minister of Education, Mr. Semere Russom, stressed the importance of coordinated efforts on the part of government institutions, teachers and the general public in nurturing dynamic youth who take an active role in the nation-building process. He made the remarks in a meeting in Massawa with the Ministry's branch heads in the sub-zones and with secondary school directors in the Northern Red Sea region.

Noting that encouraging outcomes have been registered in the development of the education sector, the Minister nonetheless indicated that major challenges still lie ahead, and that the Government is making substantial investments to tackle them. Mr. Semere further called on staff members to step up their contribution in the national development drive.

Meanwhile, the Minister visited different schools in Massawa, Foro and Gelalo.
