Asmara — A total of 305 students, out of whom 133 are female, graduated in diploma from both Asmara and Mai-Habar technical schools upon the completion of 3-year course. The course was focused on wood and metal works, construction, electricity, auto-mechanics, electronics and drafting, among others.
Speaking at the graduation ceremony at the Mai-Haber Technical School, the Director General of the Technical and Vocational Training Department in the Ministry of Education, Mr. Tesfai Sium, indicated that the graduating batch are among those 3,200 students who graduated in different fields from the Sawa National Vocational Training Center in 2006. Also in a speech he delivered in the graduation ceremony at the Asmara Technical School, the Director of Competence in the Technical and Vocational
Training Department of the Ministry, Mr. Measho Gebretinsae, stressed the significance of skilled manpower in the social, political and economic development of a given country.
Certificates and prizes were handed to the graduates and those who demonstrated excellence in their academic performance, respectively.
