The Dekemhare-based Dembesko Technical School on March 2 graduated 82 students in diploma upon completion of courses for three-years. Courses included automotive mechanics, general mechanics, construction, electricity and electronics.

After handing certificates to the graduates, the Director General of Technical and Vocational Training Department in the Ministry of Education, Mr. Tesfai Sium, pointed out that the Government is making utmost efforts to develop human resource capacity. He further called on the graduates to apply their newly acquired skills in the national reconstruction programs.

Dembesko Technical School that was established in 1998 has so far graduated 403 students in diploma and 152 in certificate.

Meanwhile, 11 youth from the Asmara Music School who followed a five-year course graduated in diploma on the same day. The Director General of Research and Human Resource Development in the Ministry of Education, Mr. Petros Hailemariam, handed certificates to the graduates. He said that the main objective of the school is to nurture competent young artists, and thereby bestow the influential role of music in the well being of the society.

The Asmara Music School, which operates under the umbrella of the Ministry of Education, is currently providing training to 100 students. The school was established in 1985 in the days of the armed struggle for independence.
