Nigeria: 21 States, NLC Embrace Health Insurance Scheme

Abuja — Twenty-one states have indicated interest to have their employees enrolled in the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS), to enable them and their immediate families access affordable and quality healthcare.

Also, the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has endorsed the scheme, declaring it a labour-friendly initiative that should be embraced by all employers of labour, if Nigeria'sdream of attaining the Millennium Development Goalsand joining the league of the top 20 economies ofthe world by 2020 must be realised.
