The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Liberia has submitted the names of two of its employees to the Ministry of Justice for investigation for alleged financial malpractices.

In a brief chat with The INQUIRER yesterday the Assistant Minister for Public Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mr. William Ledlum said his ministry forwarded the names of the two men following preliminary findings by a private consultancy firm (name-withheld) linking them to the alleged scandal.

He named the suspended officials as the director of the Bureau of Financial Affairs, Mr. Elisha Moore and the chief accountant of the bureau, Mr. Tugbeh C. Tugbeh.

Reports gathered by this paper indicate that prior to the preliminary findings which allegedly linked the two men at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, they dispatched an inspectorate to conduct an analysis of the financial records at the home office and foreign mission of the ministry which found them involved in serious fiscal malpractices.

Meanwhile according to reports from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs disclosed that the suspension from their positions, which is in line with Section 4.2.6 of the Standing Orders of the Civil Service, is pending the outcome of the investigation by the justice ministry.
