Eritrea: Potable Water Supply Projects Implemented in Three Towns of Southern Region

Adi-Keih — The implementation of potable water supply projects in the towns of Segeneiti, Adi-Keih and Debarwa, at a total cost of 120 million Nakfa, have been finalized and are operational, according to Mr. Rezene Fisiha, Director General of Infrastructure Development in the Southern Region Administration. He made the discloser in a meeting he held with water resource experts, area administrators and partners.

Mr. Rezen indicated that the potable water supply problems in the aforementioned towns have now been eased by 80% thanks to the implementation of the projects. He also called on the local inhabitants to make good use of the new facilities.

The projects included the construction of ponds with the capacity of holding 500 cubic meters of water in Adi-Keih and Debarwa, and in Segeneiti with a capacity of holding 200-cubic meters. In addition, the projects included the installation of water pipelines, construction of offices and other necessary infrastructure.
