Cape Town — The minerals and energy department and Eskom are working on a new pricing policy, which charges users on the basis of the quantity and timing of consumption, rather than a flat rate.
Minerals and energy director of electricity Ompi Aphane said yesterday the policy would, it was hoped, determine the tariff increase decisions of the National Energy Regulator and could be adopted as early as July .
