Angola: Women Promotion Department Organises Cultural, Educational Contest

Family and Promotion of Women provincial department of Luanda is organising as from the beginning of this month, plastic arts, general knowledge and cooking contests, under the "March Women" programme.

According to a statement from the Ministry of Family and Promotion of Women (Minfamu), delivered this Thursday to ANGOP, the organisation of the contest is part of the March 08 (International Women's Day) commemorative programme.

Minfamu's provincial department introduced plastic arts prize to encourage the creation of artworks in Luanda's women and the recognition of their contribution to the culture of this city.

The general knowledge competition aims at stimulating interest in and value women's role in the development process and socialisation.

The cooking contest has the objective to serve as catalyser in the hard work of fomenting and guiding the use of tourism resources in the country, preserving and valuing local socio-economic characteristics and the environment.
