Liberia: Stakeholders Consultative Committee Workshop to Review Prs On Monday

6 March 2008

Monrovia, Liberia - On Monday, March 10, 2008, at Monrovia City Hall, the Stakeholders' Consultative Committee (SCC), which launched the Poverty Reduction Strategy (PRS) process in August 2007, will reconvene to vet the 2nd and most recent draft of Liberia's Poverty Reduction Strategy before finalization.

It is expected that a cross-section of stakeholders will converge on City Hall next Monday, including members of civil society, members of the Legislature, Cabinet officials, donors, and private sector representatives. Liberia's PRS is a reflection of district, county-wide, and regional consultations throughout the country; public outreach consultations in Monrovia; as well as discussions taking place in board rooms, palava huts, hatai shops, on university campuses, and in private residences about moving the nation from post-conflict recovery to post-conflict development. During the SCC on Monday, specific focus will be placed on strategies for implementation during the three-year national development agenda.
