Lagos — It came as a shock that in a 21st century Nigeria, the gory details reported of a torture centre with all the signs of depravity and slavery camouflaging as Quranic centre can still be in existence.
The story is told of an Islamic Teaching centre-Anakunmullahi Islamic Centre-- in the ancient city of Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, where inmates taken to the centre by their parents for Islamic instructions, are subjected to traumatic and horrendous experiences in the hands of Islamic clerics who are supposed to be their teachers.
