Namibia: Top Job for Kalomoh

Windhoek — President Hifikepunye Pohamba has appointed former ambassador Tuliameni Kalomoh as Special Advisor to the Minister of Foreign Affairs with effect from the beginning of this month.

In his new portfolio, Kalomoh will advise the President, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs on matters related to international relations. Kalomoh was a Member of Parliament between 1997 and 2002 before he went to the United States as Assistant United Nations Secretary General for Political Affairs.

He held that position until last year. Between April and September in 1997, he was the Special Representative of the UN Secretary General for Liberia. That was after he served for a little more than a year as Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Before that he was Namibia's Ambassador to the United States.
