Hambo — The provincial department of Family Issues and Promotion of Women on Thursday donated some foodstuff and used clothes to an elderly home in Dango ward, outskirts of Huambo City, an activity that took place in the ambit of the events programmed for the "March Woman" events.

During the ceremony, the director of the elderly home, Rosário Amadeu, explained to the resident senior citizens the meaning of 08 March (International Women's Day), a date in which, she said, the governments reflect about matters linked to the development and contribution of women in society.

ANGOP learnt that the home hosts about 228 elderly people and 92 children under the responsibility of the beneficiaries of this institution.
