A photo exhibit jointly organized by the Ministry of Culture and Heritage Preservation, the national cultural committee and the US Embassy in Tunisia , was inaugurated on Wednesday, by the Minister of Culture and Heritage Preservation, Mr Mohamed El Aziz Achour and Mr Robert. F. Godec, the US Ambassador in Tunis.

The exhibit which is hosted by the Tunisian National Library is dubbed "Landmarks of New York" and aims at offering viewers an idea of New York 's architectural heritage. Through 80 carefully selected black and white photographs taken by more than 50 seasoned photographers and photography students, the visitor is presented with an original view of the 'big apple's' cultural, historical, as well as its architectural evolution during the 20th century.

Among the photographs on display one can mention the dramatic 'Roosevelt birthplace', 'Central Park', 'St Patrick's Cathedral', as well as New York 's oldest College, also known as ' Columbia University '.

The photos relative to the city's beating economic pulse, Wall Street, but also to New York 's many bridges, are also very telling of a city whose character, gigantism and diversity are world known. A most inspiring and impressive exhibit indeed.
