Tunisia: Cap Bon Town to Host the 46th Edition of Its Traditional 'Oranges Festival'

The town of Menzel Bouzelfa, in the governorate of Nabeul, is to celebrate the 46 th edition of its colorful 'Oranges Festival' from March 15 to 31, 2008.

The 'Oranges Festival' kicks off on March 15 with the launch of the Agriculture Fair, a tradition of the festival. Alongside the Agriculture Fair, the municipality will hold a caravan.

A study day is also due to be held on March 17 on the theme : 'production and perspectives in the sector of agriculture".

Several personalities from the sector of citrus production will take part to the discussions to be held to this effect, with a view to enhancing the sector's productivity and export capacity.

During the tourism day, due to be held on March 20, tourists will be offered a welcoming ceremony featuring local and national folk groups. They will also have the opportunity to visit the local weekly market, an orange packaging and exports unit, as well as a wine-selling cooperative farm. Moreover, they will be invited to a meal during which a beauty pageant ceremony, fittingly dubbed 'Miss Oranges', will be held.

A conference on food balance and on the nutritive aspect of the citrus is also on the agenda; it will be presented by a renowned dietician in the person of Mrs. Faiza Ben Hafsa, on March 22.

Alongside the event, a trade fair will be organized, from March 15 to 30, in the town's municipal stadium.
