Uganda: Army Recovers 91 Guns

The UPDF has recovered 91 guns in the first six days of March in the on-going operation to recover illegally owned firearms in Karamoja sub-region.

In a telephone interview with The New Vision, the spokesman of the 3rd Division, Captain Henry Obbo said 18 of the guns were recovered after the infantry supported by a reconnaissance helicopter raided Morungole mountains in Kaabong District.

Obbo said one warrior was killed in an exchange of fire that lasted about four hours while another was arrested adding. He added that no aerial bombs have been used in the operation.
