President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf has identified with the Forum for Political Party Leaders by contributing Five hundred fifty United States dollars (US$550.00) for the funeral of one of its fallen members, ALCOP's Chairman, Mr. Justine Fineboy.
The President on Wednesday, March 5, 2008 made available the amount to the group through its Chairman, Mr. Benedict Matalda, as her initial contribution toward the funeral of the fallen political leader.
Shortly after receiving the money, Mr. Matalda accompanied by some family members of the deceased, proceeded to the Good Shepard Funeral Home in Fiamah, Sinkor, where the amount of L$34,650.00 was paid, representing part payment of fees charged for mortuary work on the remains of Mr. Fineboy.
Presenting the money at the funeral pillar, Mr. Matalda lauded President Sirleaf on behalf of the Forum for Political Party Leaders for her timely contribution. He said the money is a jump-start toward the preparation for the funeral of their fallen colleague and that the contribution by the President shows how much she cares for other politicians. Family members of the deceased present at the funeral home also praised the president for her contribution and called on other political leaders to assist the bereaved family so that the late Mr. Justine Fineboy can get a befitting burial.
Mr. Justine Fineboy was the Chairman for the All Liberian Coalition Party (ALCOP) and a member of the Forum for Political Party Leaders. The Forum for Political Party Leaders comprises of leaders from several political parties, who found it expedient to work along with Madam Sirlead after her election in 2005 for the development of the country Mr. Fineboy died on February 20, 2008 in Monrovia after a period of illness.
