The Angolan ambassador to Côte d'Ivoire, Gilberto Buta Lutucuta was Thursday briefed by the secretary general of Inter African Coffee Organisation (IACO), Josefa Sacko, on the current development state of the product in the continent.

During the meeting in Abidjan, Cote d'Ivoire, Josefa Sacko was optimistic about the implementation, by the organisation she represents, of the existing programmes aimed at increasing and improving coffee production.

However, she defended the development and application of "agri-business", a new planning that will give another boost to coffee production in the African continent, also leading to the reduction of unemployment in coffee-growing countries.

Josefa Sacko, leading the organisation on her third mandate, also highlighted the importance of the improvement of local production, through the application of new planning systems and, consequently, the ongoing African staff training on matters related to coffee production studies.

In her view, the sudden increase in the price of robust coffee at the international market has contributed greatly to the improvement of the working conditions throughout the continent which, at the moment, reached top levels in the production of the product worldwide.
