Some Ugandan Nationals and local administration of Mezam recently inaugurated the Interfaith Vision Foundation Cameroon, IVFCam, which was formerly known as International Christians Women of Vision A.I-CHRISWOV.

The objectives of the new organisation, IVFCam, seeks to provide sustainable aid to both Christians and non-Christians for the alleviation of poverty, promote health safety and education among the disadvantaged person in both rural and urban areas with preference to female population.

A Ugandan National, Madam Rebecca Nanfuka, who works with Voluntary Service Overseas, VSO Yaounde, said the change of name from A.I CHRISWOV to IVFCam, is very significant in the life of the NGO because it now encompasses more areas of interference to better the lives of the disadvantaged in Cameroon.

"IVFCam, as a community based organisation is growing bigger, and you will be expected to network the more, empower widows, orphans fight HIV/AIDS spread and handle human rights issues as well as ensure a safe environment and sustainable socio-economic development."

On her part, the Programme Development Officer of VSO Cameroon, Mrs. Maureen Kfutwah, said IVFCam is fortunate to have hardworking leaders who have been great achievers in life. She promised fruitful partnership with IVFCam for meaningful change.

The Northwest Provincial Delegate of Social Affairs, Mr. Wesley Asanji, said with increasing poverty and diseases, IVFCam, remains a good partner of the State because the State alone cannot solve all social ills in society. He urged delegates and personnel from IVFCam who benefited from a training workshop to pass on the knowledge to their peers.

He said his services are free and the member of IVFCam should feel free to request for technical services. The Founder and Executive President of IVFCam, Mme Anne Stella Fomumbod, expressed gratitude to VSO staff for their technical expertise, and UNESCO for donating rice, buckets, and school needs to orphans recently.
