Maryland County Senior Senator John Ballout says the electoral victory won by the ruling Unity Party for national leadership is only benefiting some special people instead of all in the country.
He observed that even the ongoing down-sizing and right-sizing exercises and what he called the 'importation of government workforce' are not benefiting partisans, but rather those special people favored by some authorities.
Sen. Ballout is member of the ruling party's executive committee. He made the observation recently in Monrovia following an Executive Committee meeting in Monrovia where he reportedly spoke against major pitfalls of the ruling party.
"Everybody that associates with a political party wants to benefit from the results of what the party accomplishes and noted that the Unity Party (UP) should not be an exception.
He said UP partisans deserve due consideration, respect and inclusion in the victory and its benefits," says Mr. Ballout.
He outlined that UP partisans deserve more and more considerations, respect and inclusion in government so as to equally enjoy and manage what they sweated to achieve.
"There are lots of things that come our way like job, scholarship, training opportunities amongst many others which things our people should be given a fair chance to benefit.
"Unfortunately, as a result of either delay or denial or refusal to provide partisans these opportunities, lots of our people are discouraged, feeling abandoned and forsaken.
And so it becomes difficult for some of us who came to these positions on the sweat of those partisans to remain silence over their plight" said Senator Ballout.
He said the UP victory must be triggered down to the grassroots partisans who are the UP's foundation and 99% of the people in the Unity Party.
He noted that appointments in government by President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf do not benefit the grass root partisans but rather the appointees and their respective immediate family or relatives without any attention toward the grass root partisans.
"We've very few UP partisans appointed in government and the rest are not partisans. I'm not against the involvement of other partisans' appointment in government because I think this is a very healthy exercise from where we find our serves coming from.
But I am saying that there are no such opened gestures of reconciliation and good faith should be at the detriment and expense of the partisans "averred Sen. Ballout. He called for UP partisans to be given a place to benefit instead of being treated in a way that would make the UP partisans to feel abandoned.
"We are building a political institution which must survive through the growth of our partisans. If we have any political future then we must first take better care of our own partisans, our party is bigger then everyone.
Many people know it all and refused to talk but I must speak out for them now... because I am tire giving excuses to our people in Maryland County even in this third year of UP leadership" he said.
According to him this has nothing to do with government performance because it is doing excellent and President Sirleaf who he considered as his role model.
But not that there is a line of demarcation between government performance and how the partisans benefit as a result of government good works in the country.
He emphasized that the government and party leaders must practicable the significance of being a UP partisan and if it causes to place partisans in national leadership role because the party will be blamed for any wrong or failure or growth in the country.
He said these pitfalls are cause by all top level partisans placed in strategy positions who reneged on seeking the well being of the grass root partisans.
"if we can't make sure that UP victory transmitted into their own wellbeing then we failed them. I think this is about time the party can put its house together to rescues the partisans and the party's future."
"If we are elected and assumed the leadership of this country up to the highest lever of the presidency that victory should translate to some thing positive in the lives of the partisans who believed in us when we were nobody ; who stood for us when we were alone, and had nothing to offer them"

"Everybody that joins a political party wants to benefit from the result of what the political party should have accompanied at the end points and up is not an exception, UP partisans deserve consideration, respect and inclusion"
