Eritrea: Massawa Technical And Business School Graduates Over 140 Students

A total of 143 students, out of whom 65 are females, graduated in diploma yesterday from the Massawa Technical and Business School upon completion of a three-year course in 13 different fields.
Speaking at the graduation ceremony, the coordinator of the School's program, Eng. Andre Gebrehawariat, noted that vocational training is one of the cornerstones of the nation-building process and, as such, the Government is striving to promote its development.
Similarly, the Director General of the Technical and Vocational Training Department in the Ministry of Education, Mr. Tesfai Sium, underlined that Eritrea's natural resources are its manpower and stressed the significance of developing human resources in tackling poverty and dependency. In this respect, he explained that a number of technical, agricultural and business schools have been opened in different parts of the country beginning with the days of the armed struggle.
A representative of the graduates on his part expressed appreciation to the Government for the educational opportunities it made available and asserted that they would live up to the nation's expectations.
The Administrator of the Northern Red Sea region, Mr. Osman Mohammed Omar, the head of PFDJ in the region, Mr. Hamid Haji, the Administrator of the city of Massawa, Ms. Fana Tesfai, and Mr. Tesfai Sium awarded prizes to students who demonstrated excellence in their academic performance.
