Nairobi — Even before the initial steps are taken to normalise the country after a political standoff that led to the most gruesome violence the country has suffered since the Emergency, some people are already bent on defeating justice.

Last week, a group of MPs was quoted as saying that those associated with the violence should be pardoned, allegedly because President Kibaki and Mr Odinga had signed a power-sharing agreement.
