The Maitama Amusement Park (MAP) located in the exclusive Maitama district in the Federal Capital Territory is to be commissioned on March 21, 2008, a press statement from the park managers has said.

Developed by Subotech Nigeria Limited, the 18 hectare recreational and leisure park when fully developed will have some of the best facilities seen anywhere in the world, the statement said.

Its strategic location and serenity makes it irresistible especially when ushered into the park through IBB Boulevard, the statement added.

Part of the concept of the park provides better environment protection with an exotic plant nursery and fish/marine pond under development. Fun games for the entire family will amaze clients with splendid colours and impressive designs inspired by talented young Nigerians, it said.

Other facilities will see children having brain storming games and dive into exciting chasing caves. Tunnels, kiddies rides, skateboarding, roller-skating, bumper boat, formula 1 cars, Go-Carts, carousel, merry go round and drop zone.

The digital world would provide a series of electronic games moving kids toward the digital education and exploration opportunities.

Also there would be family entertainments with lots of fun times through exciting, relaxation in the open green plane spaces; beautiful and splendid shaped plants provide the soft structure for the under 12 year-old recreational requirements.

Closed air-conditioned areas including video arcade game halls, tasty restaurants and ice cream parlors, popcorn and cotton candy, gift, house of horrors, souvenirs and antique shops will add to the total leisure facilities available said the statement.
