Tafic continue their league adventure this weekend as they head south for their encounter against Lobtrans Gunners.

They take the long trip to Lobatse with the hope of improving on their indifferent form that saw them winning only five of their fourteen games and breaking for Christmas with 16 points.

Coach, Godfrey Tamirepi faces a daunting task of instilling confidence in his charges and he hopes tomorrow's game will provide victory for the team and psychologically prepare the boys for the second round of the season. "I'm not sure about the number of players that we are going to sign but we certainly are going to beef up our squad with some of the few players that are currently on trial.

The recent holiday lay-off has not been much of a hindrance to our fitness and the boys have been responding very well at training."

The Tafic players have been undergoing an intensive training programme that involved friendlies against Tasc and GNT on Wednesday and Thursday respectively.

Though he travels to Lobatse with hopes of a fruitful journey, Tamirepi is quite aware of the perils of undermining his weekend opponents. "Gunners have a two-game advantage over us and we are just three points adrift of them. If we lose the weekend game against them we'll drop to the bottom eight and we'd be working under constant pressure to get away from the wrong end of the table."

Tamirepi has enjoyed full support from the fans and officials since his arrival last season. He came well in time to save the Machiminyenga boys from a second spell in the first division doldrums.

After accomplishing his mission to return the club to the elite league, the soft- spoken Zimbabwean mentor is on another mission- to take the team beyond its horizons of achievement.

"We still have 15 more games to come and there are so many possibilities in football and if we put up a good run, who knows, we might even challenge for the honours."

Tafic have since strengthened their technical bench by roping in Ntime Ntime, who guided the club to their 2002 Coca-Cola championship, as assistant coach.
