A sterling opportunity is now provided for social scientists to explain why, in the post-atomic-bomb era, country rock music is without doubt the most popular music genre in the world.
With its roots firmly in traditional blues, country rock combines the story telling approach of country music with the more upbeat tempo of rock.Consequently it is a style of music that transcends many cultural and racial boundaries and has given rise to many of music's biggest stars. Even Elvis (Presley) was Country Rock.
"Do You Wanna Country Rock" opened for a brief engagement at Reps Theatre last week Thursday and will run until March 15.
No performance on Sunday and Monday; with a matinee at 2:30 and evening performance at 7 pm on Saturday.
On opening night, a cheering and stomping audience danced the evening away on a special floor constructed in front of the brilliantly decorated stage. The musicianship displayed was outstanding.

It has been emphasised that the concept behind this concert (not a show) has been to pick a selection of up tempo songs both familiar and not so well known.
The cast is made up of the very best of our young performers and musicians.
Selected for talent, versatility and vibrancy. Opening night was an enormous success, with the audience remaining behind long after curtain, to share with each other their joyous reaction.
I'm glad to know that there are others who agree that Country Rock is the most popular music genre in the world.
One of the artists I represent, Canadian singer/songwriter/guitarist Trevor Finlay is one of Canada's best country rock / southern rock artist who is branching out to the southern USA to further his career. From one country to another, I would love your comments on this artist. www.trevorfinlay.com / www.myspace.com/thetrevorfinlayband
