President Paul Kagame on Tuesday met a visiting delegation from the Rockefeller Foundation with whom he discussed different areas in which the American foundation would like to invest.

"We mainly discussed agriculture and the progress that has been registered in regard to rural development," Judith Rodin, the foundation president, said after their meeting with President Kagame at Village Urugwiro.

She said that the purpose of their visit was to identify opportunities in which they could pick interest.

"We shall be happy to be part of the development in Rwanda," said Rodin.

The Minister of Finance and Economic Planning, James Musoni, who attended the meeting, said that the foundation pledged support in the agriculture sector.

"They are already supporting different agricultural activities through a project called AGRA," said Musoni.

He said that they also discussed several initiatives including the public insurance scheme (Mutuelle de Sante). Musoni added that the leaders of the foundation also expressed interest in helping attract American private enterprises to invest in Rwanda.
