Sao Tome

Giving solutions to the problems the Angolan community in Sao Tome and Principe faces might take some more time, due to the present need for restoring the country's constitutional normality, on Wednesday said the Speaker of the Angolan Parliament, Roberto de Almeida.

The official called on all Angolans living abroad to understand well the efforts being made by the Angolan government for the repair of infrastructures, such as bridges, roads, railways, aiming at the normalisation of the political, social and economic situation.

Roberto de Almeida said a sustainable aid for the Angolan communities abroad depends on a census process and a concert with the states that accommodate these compatriots, which demands a high level of organisation and some financial effort.

During the meeting, the community received explanations on the preparations for the holding of the legislative elections, scheduled for September this year.

Roberto de Almeida is in Sao Tome and Principe since last Monday, leading a parliamentary team that comprises the MPs Jacques Mato Gala, Albertina Teresa Jose and Henrique Afonso Raimundo.
