Dakar

The President of Djibouti Ismael Oumar Guelleh invited Thursday in Dakar the members of the Organisation of Islamic Conference (OIC) to thwart the attacks on Islam and Prophet Muhammad (PSUH).

The 11th summit of the OIC was open in the Senegalese capital in front of about 45 heads of state and government.

Speaking on behalf of the Arab group of the OIC, Mr Guelleh said that the Dakar meeting is an "important" step in the efforts "to put together our efforts to defend our people's lot".

He also insisted on the necessity for the OIC to have an updated charter to take up the challenges facing it.
