Sierra Leone: PMDC's Scribe Drags Cook to Court

Freetown — Administrative Secretary of the Peoples Movement for Democratic Change (PMDC) Tuesday dragged her cook Manu Korba to Court No. 2 for allegedly stealing her Le3 million.

Nancy Johnny said her cook stole her keys and siphoned the said money in her bed room.

She said her personal money and that of the political party was stolen by the accused.

"I noticed last week that the money was missing in my room. I raised alarm and cried bitterly," she said adding that she employed the services of a witch doctor to catch the thief.

The accused, however, denied stealing the money.

Meanwhile, sister of the accused Manu told the court that the accused usually give her Le 250,000 for safe keeping which she claimed is her monthly salary.

Defense counsel BR Pratt applied for bail to be granted the accused. The matter is adjourned to 18 March, 2008.
