Uganda: Newsboys' Local Video Out

16 March 2008

American Christian rock/pop band, Newsboys, have released the video for the song, Something Beautiful that they shot in Uganda in late 2006. It was released in late 2007 and can be watched on youtube.com.

The video was recorded on their maiden tour to Uganda in September 2006. All the scenes of the video are recorded in Uganda. Matching the lyrics of the song, the scenes of the video illustrate a preparation for a typical modern-day Ugandan wedding.

From the pedicure and manicure at the saloon, to the dressing of the gown. The scenes then shift to the church service where the bride's father, dressed in a Kanzu, walks his daughter to the bridegroom who is also dressed in a Kanzu.

The video also includes scenes from the concert the band held at Uganda Christian University during their tour in Uganda. It shows fans jumping up and down with hands in the air the way it is done in rock music concerts. In the concert they held here, the band treated their Ugandan music fans to two hours of their best hits since started out, twenty years ago.

It was during their show here that they made the first public performance for the song Something Beautiful.

The four time Grammy award nominees are famous especially among contemporary gospel music lovers and their songs are also a main stay on most Christian radio stations.

Their best ever hits include A Million Pieces, Entertaining Angels, Shine, and Love Liberty Disco.
