The Foreign Minister of Bangladesh, Iftekhar Ahmed Chowdoury, suggested on Friday in Dakar a partnership in micro-finance with Senegal.

During a press conference held in the Senegalese capital during the 11th Summit of the Organisation of the Islamic Conference (OIC), Chowdoury said African countries can get inspiration from the example set by Bangladesh in micro-credit.

Bangladesh, a country a South-East Asia with 150 million people, is developing a rich experience in micro-credit.

Muhammad Yunus, the founder of Grameen Bank, a popular bank, won the Nobel Prize for Peace in 2006.

"If Africa follows the Bangladeshi example, they can find the way to development", he said.
