Kumasi — THOUSANDS OF members of the public, on Independence Day, received free medical care by members of the Medical Student's Association of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST).

The students organized mini clinics in Kumasi, as part of the 51st Independence Anniversary, through which they reached out to the general public, checked blood pressure and body mass indices, as well as offering appropriate medical advices.

The mini-clinics were organized at the Kejetia Lorry terminal, and the Jackson park.

The newly-elected President of the association, Pius Essandoh, said the programme was designed to promote good health for the general public.

He commended the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly, the Regional Co-ordinating Council, Sopak Restaurant, New World Restaurant, Prevele Consults, for sponsoring their programmes over the years. Other sponsors were mentioned as Fox FM, Spirit FM, Hello FM and Light FM.

Essandoh also appealed to corporate bodies and individuals, to donate generously towards programmes for their annual health week.
