In a press statement dated March 7, Tumelo said: "The PS to the President has approved the appointments of former Directors Employment and Manpower Planning, Disikalala Gaseitsiwe; Budget Administration Wamasego Nelly Senegelo; Supply, Development Programmes Cornelius Dekop; and Assistant Accountant Emma Pelotlestse to Deputy Secretaries, Socio Economic Policy; Secretary, Budget; Accountant General, (Compliance and Procurement); Development Programmes; and Accountant General, respectively, with immediate effect."
He said that the government had also approved the drafting of a Bill (to be completed during 2008) to establish the Central Statistical Office (CSO) as an autonomous organization renamed the National Statistics Office (NSO).
Finance minister, Baledzi Gaolathe, has also appointed Agnes Motlhanka, Gontlemang Tshabang, Limited Nkani, Landrick Sianga, Catherine Kgomanyane, Emelda Malobela and Bringle Dithapo as member of the newly established Government Internal Audit Committee (GIAC), operational in April 2008.
The PS said that as a result of sustained efforts to operationalise Non-Bank Financial Institutions Regulatory Authority (NBFIRA) that Gaolathe launched in November 2007, the Board of Directors of the Authority for the recruitment of the Chief Executive Officer had started. Consequently, some MFDP staff members will be seconded to the Authority in April 2008 on an interim basis while awaiting the recruitment of permanent staff, he said.
