The controversy involving Chiefs' striker, Keaketswe 'Mara' Moloi, will come to a head when the Premier League Committee meets tomorrow to discuss the debacle over his supposed transfer to Gaborone United.
There has been confusion over the on-off transfer of the player, and three clubs will attempt to do what they failed to do on the field of play, and take three points off the runaway log leaders.
BMC, Township Rollers and Nico United have lodged a protest against Chiefs, claiming that Moloi was ineligible to play against them.
The player was reportedly transferred to Gaborone United during the January transfer window, but this was later reversed in a situation that is still unclear to most in the soccer fraternity, as well as the Premier League Committee itself.
When a player transfers, there are certain laid down procedures to be followed. Firstly, the club that is interested in the player has to write a letter informing the player's club of their interest. It is only after such a letter that negotiations can begin. The concerned player will then be expected to write a letter of resignation to confirm he wishes to move. The intended new club will then write a letter requesting the player's registration details, known as the 'Blue-book'.
When the Premier League meets tomorrow they will seek to establish whether all these formalities had been correctly completed.
According to one committee member, the problem with this issue is that Moloi's book bears an official stamp, and above that there appear the signatures of all concerned parties. There is also another official note on the other side of the book reversing the transfer registered on the previous page.
When contacted for comment on Wednesday, Moloi told Voice Sport that he was completely innocent of any alleged malpractice.
"I am clean. I was never involved in any negotiations with any club. Some Gaborone United people only told me that they were going to seek permission from my team to talk to me. I was still waiting for them to contact me when I heard I was now officially a GU player.
"I expressed my dissatisfaction at the way things had been handled, and was adamant that I had never agreed with anyone that they could sign me."
Moloi was speaking from the national Under-23 camp where he is part of the team preparing to play Cameroon in the last match in the 2008 Olympic Qualifiers
The fed up Chiefs striker added that he was now getting stressed by the situation, and just wanted to be allowed to get on and play his football.
"I didn't play in the last league encounter against Gaborone United and even on Friday against Santos I won't play. The Chiefs officials have told me that the Premier League has instructed them to stop using me in their games until the issue is resolved. I am now more and more worried because I feel I am the party that was hard done in this whole mess," he said.
The concerned clubs declined to comment on the issue ahead of tomorrow's committee meeting.
The Premier League has made at least P3000 from the Chiefs protest alone. Clubs are required to pay P1000 for lodging a protest and league secretary, James Phuthego, has confirmed receiving all the monies from the three clubs.
A highly placed source within the league, who will be part of tomorrow's meeting, has told Voice Sport that it will not be that easy to dock Chiefs points because they were never ordered to stop using the player in the games concerned.
Extension Gunners have also lodged a protest against former Chiefs Zambian midfielder-cum-defender, Aaron Kale. The Zambian is on loan from Zambian team Kabwe Warriors, and Gunners query how he could then be loaned to another club.
Gunners have paid their P1000 protest fee, which makes his office P4 000 richer just from the four issues that will be addressed.

Meanwhile, the saga involving, Rollers and Chiefs tussle for Sekhana Koko has been referred to the Appeals Board after the two parties failed to resolve the matter amicably as instructed by the Premier League.
