The Crusader for Peace has trained about 250 women to create awareness in various communities for the forthcoming National Population and Housing Census.

According to Madam Julie Endee, the women were selected to help spread the message regarding the importance of the census throughout the country.

The one-day training workshop was held at the Crusader for Peace Village on the Capitol By-pass in Monrovia.

She challenged the women to go out and sensitize the public about the significant of the census exercise in Liberia.

Madam Endee who is also the Chairlady for LISGIS Mobilization Committee, reminded the women that census taking was beyond political, ethnic and cultural boundary, and as such, they should encourage residents of their communities to participate in the counting process.

Madam Endee further noted that the women have been deployed throughout the Liberia to inform the people about the census.

The Director General of the Liberia Institute of Statistics and Geo-Information Services (LISGIS), Dr. Edward Liberty urged participants to properly disseminate the census information to various communities.
