Botswana Football Association (BFA) technical director, Losika Keatlholetswe has said that the vacant post of assistant coach for the senior national team could be filled by today.
Though he could not divulge more information, Keatlholetswe said that plans to fill the position are at an advanced stage.
He added that they are looking at a number of candidates and they will make an announcement anytime. He did not confirm reports that BDF XI mentor and former national team coach, Stanley Tshosane is the candidate.
But he conceded that without doubt Tshosane is one of the most renowned coaches around. Should Tshosane be roped in to deputise Briton Colwyn Rowe, he would not be new to the Zebras' set up. He was once the head coach of the national team.
The Zebras' assistant coaching post became vacant after former Police XI tactician, Sthanda Mogwadi left early this year for further studies in South Africa. The Zebras are currently in camp to prepare for a friendly game against a Brazilian select side on April 1.

Meanwhile, the vacant post of media officer at the BFA has not been filled. This is despite intentions by the BFA to fill the post by January this year. Contacted yesterday, BFA Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Tosh Kgotlele could only say that they will advertise the post. The association has not had a media officer since Ishmael Mooki was shown the door last year.
