Hukuntsi — It is still not yet clear as who Khama's Vice President will be when he takes over as President but last week in Hukuntsi when he campaigned for the BDP on the eve of the Kgalagadi North by-election, he nearly let the cat out of the bag. He only succeeded in making his audience more curious on the subject.
Botswana Democratic Party deputy secretary general, Kentse Rammidi almost got Khama to talk about the subject during his public address in Hukuntsi. In his address to the BDP members in a rainy environment, Khama pleaded with them to work with the next vice president "as you did with me."
"Who is the vice president?" Rammidi interrupted.
Khama looked to his side where the laughing Molepolole South Member of Parliament, Daniel Kwelagobe sat and answered: "I am the vice president".
Rammidi: "No, I mean your vice president when you take over". Before Khama could reply the BDP members had joined Rammidi's chorus: "We want to know your vice president now," the rally pleaded
Khama:"Do you want to know who will be my vice. Do you want to be the first people to know the person?"
"Yeees," was the rallying cry.
Khama said: "Le tsile go mo itse. Ke tla le bololela, - I will tell you".
After his short speech of pleading with the Hukuntsi residents to vote for Motobake, Khama took his seat without fulfilling his promise of revealing who the next vice president will be.
