Kampala — EXPRESS has defied a financial hitch and will early today send a contingent of 16 players and four officials to Kinshasa aboard Kenya Airways, for their CAF Confederations Cup second round encounter against AV Club.
FUFA, Express board of directors and club secretary Kavuma Kabenge had made it possible for the team to travel, according to team manager Mohamood Kateregga. The game is set for Easter Sunday.
"We are getting there early and we shall train tomorrow (today) in the afternoon. The whole trip will cost us just more than sh40m in travel and allowances," Kateregga, revealed.
Kateregga said that he and another official Kassim Buyondo were meeting their own air tickets.
Phillip Ssozi, Morley Byekwaso, Hamza Ssemwogerere and Kassim Kasawuli were left behind after they failed to recover from injuries.

A. Dhaira, G. Wakabu, P. Sebuwufu, G. Kavulu, F. Kalungi, O. Hitimana, I. Kinene and A. Kisaliita. Others are M. Sekasana, A. Mubiri, I. Bwire, B. Kiyegga, C. Katamba, D. Kyeyune, K. Ndugwa and M. Piche.
Officials: Jimmy Muguwa (coach), Kateregga (manager), Buyondo and Michael Musoke (doctor).
KCC assistant coach George Nsimbe will take over as coach for Moses Basena, who has switched to champions URA.
KCC acting chairman Godfrey Kisekka yesterday said they trusted Nsimbe to to do the job.
Sources close to the club indicate that official also plan to convince Proline Academy's founder Mujib Kasule to join's KCC's technical team.
The former KCC captain, who also assisted them when Kenyan Hussein Kheri left the club two season's back, often contributed to the players welfare.
He famously wooed players back to training after they held a strike over delayed payment last year.
