I really don't get this Dulloo guy. He really is acting like a typical man! You know those people who are never happy with what they have? The same ones who go to restaurants and order a dish and then want what the other man on the next table is eating. (I'm talking about food by the way).
I mean shouldn't Madan Dulloo have been over the moon now that he has what he has been looking for?
Instead now that he has been dismissed - and I mean he had it coming, didn't he ? - he plays the victim and engages in a most dishonorable blame game. The former Foreign affairs minister has decided he will blame l'express for his dismissal because he reckons the Prime minister took the decision to fire him the minute he woke up on Monday and read the newspaper!
Actually I think Dulloo is trying to pay us a compliment - about how influent we are - and we should thank him for thinking so highly of us.
But on a more serious note, such bad faith is unbecoming in a man. Madan Dulloo flirts with Paul Bérenger and secure in the knowledge that he's desirable to the opponent, speaks disparagingly of government. Even in the months leading to his dismissal, Dulloo has never hidden the fact that he was falling out of love with Ramgoolam and that he could take or leave his ministerial office.
But now that he has been freed of his ministerial responsibilities (as I thought he was begging to be - Yes, I am being ironic), Madan Dulloo is still not happy! Men really!
I wonder if this has anything to do with Bérenger's reaction or lack of to Monday's events?
I can't help thinking about what happened to former special advisor to PM, Dinesh Ramjuttun and to former MSM member Ashock Jugnauth. Both were seduced by Bérenger's promises (or said to be) and both were talked into tearing themselves away from Ramgoolam and the MSM, respectively. Both have suddenly woken up from their romantic daydreams to find that Prince charming had disappeared. And that promises are in fact just that - words empty for the most part.
Of course, I don't wish this on Dulloo. Poor soul, if anything I understand his frustration - it cannot be pleasant to be a senior minister in a government and to have to beg for an appointment with your boss. And as is universally acknowledged (isn't it?), when your partner treats you badly, it's perfectly all right to take on a lover. (Except that it's better for the ego to ditch him before he ditches you. And it's preferable not to cheat at all).
Hopefully Navin Ramgoolam will learn from this - that relationships need to be nurtured if one wants to make them last.

Especially because the grass always appears greener on the other side.
But then again, Madan Dulloo might just find out that it will become noticeably harder to get hold of Bérenger now that he is no longer a minister in Ramgoolam's government.
