The heavy rains pouring in Angola's central Bié province have been hindering the demining process in the region.

This was said Wednesday by the provincial director of the National Demining Institute (INAD), Coxe Sucama.

Coxe Sucama underlined, in Kuito city, that the rains have been raising difficulties to the landmine clearance work and, at times, leading the sappers to suspend the activities.

The official quoted the example of the surroundings of "Joaquim Kapango" airport, in Kuito, where the works have also come to a halt.
