Parliament — WITH six people already dead as a result of the cholera outbreak in Arua District, area MP Akbar Godi has petitioned the Ministry of Health calling for urgent government intervention.
Mr Godi told Journalists at Parliament last Friday that although over 400 cases had been recorded between January and March, medical interventions were thin on the ground and that people's lives were in danger.
"We have continued to lose lives because of lack of serious intervention from the government. This disease has invaded our district, and unless the government intervenes, many people are likely to die.
The District Health Officer, Dr Patrick Anguzu, said the government was doing everything possible to contain the outbreak but said they need help from Kampala.
