His Excellency The President of the Republic of The Gambia Alhaji Dr Yahya AJJ Jammeh, acting under the provisions of Section 71 (4) (b) of the Constitution of the Republic of The Gambia, has decided to relieve the following of their Cabinet appointments with effect from 19th March 2008. Ms Angela Colley, Secretary of State for Culture and Tourism, Mr Abdoulie Sallah, Secretary of State for Higher Education, Research, Science and Technology, and Mrs Neneh Macdouall-Gaye, Secretary of State for Communication and Information Technology.
His Excellency the President has also in exercise of the powers conferred upon him under Sections 71 (1) and 71 (3) of the Constitution of the Republic of The Gambia has appointed: Dr Omar Touray as Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, Ms Fatim Badjie as Secretary of State for Communications and Information Technology, Ms Nancy Njie as Secretary of State for Tourism and Culture all with immediate effect and Mr Crispin Grey-Johnson, Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs has been assigned as Secretary of State for Higher Education, Research, Science and Technology with effect from Wednesday March 19, 2008.
His Excellency has also approved the appointments of Mr Abdoulie Sallah as Secretary to Cabinet, Ms Angela Colley as Ambassador to the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Mrs Neneh Macdouall-Gaye as Ambassador/Permanent Representative of the Republic of The Gambia to The United Nations and Susan Waffa-Ogoo as Ambassador to India.
His Excellency the President of the Republic, acting in accordance with the provisions of Section 168 of the Constitution of The Republic of The Gambia has appointed Mrs Teneng Mba Jaiteh as Secretary General and Head of the Civil Service with effect from Wednesday March 19th 2008. Mr Ousman Jammeh retains his Cabinet appointment as Secretary of State for Petroleum and Energy.
