Wise Man
Ever since the departure of the erstwhile State House Press Secretary Ebrima JT Kujabi, who took up diplomatic appointment in Washington DC, a seemingly power struggle has emerged at the President's place over his possible replacement. Three media chiefs are working very hard at this hour to succeed JT Kujabi. On the list of people applying for the job is the Hassoum Ceesay, Deputy Director of Arts And Culture, now posted at the State House, GRTS DG Modou Sanyang and Kebba Dibba.
Hassoum Ceesay was said to be the President's favorite, but both Sanyang and Dibba are not resting on their quest to head the President's press office. Perhaps, fringe benefits attached to such a portfolio, coupled with the unfinished travel allowances, made these journalists to lobby for the position.
Shorting before JT Kujabi's departure, Hassoum Ceesay was personally contacted by the President to serve as JT'S Deputy. Ceesay who recently authored a book titled " The role of women in Gambian politics" was said to have impressed the president by his writing skills.
Despite being the President's favorite Press officer, Hassoum Ceesay's, oral English had some deficiencies, thanks to his slow motion talking syndrome. Notwithstanding, he is a seasoned writer. That job requires both written and good oratory skills. He might be a good writer, but not a charismatic speaker.
For Kebba Dibba, it's gathered that he was frustrated by Modou Sanyang's tribal cards, which according to GRTS sources was forcing the journalist to look for another job elsewhere. His relationship with Sanyany was based on "Masla" but in reality the two are strange bed fellows.
Kebba also believes that he deserves the State House Press officer job, considering the degrees he bagged in journalism. That, he was promised with the position of Press officer, upon the completion of his Masters Degree program studies in UK. Dibba believes that since he has successfully completed his course, he was qualified for the job. But Modou Sanyang wouldn't allow him to realize his dream.

The GRTS boss has been shamelessly lobbying for the position of press officer. The President is yet to make up his mind as to who is going to replace JT Kujabi.
