FORMER Presidential aide and PDP chieftain, Chief Andy Uba has absolved the party from the delay in the passage of 2008 Anambra state budget, saying that the state Government was just laying the blame on the party to tarnish the party's image.

Uba said he personally had no business to frustrate the passage of the budget and that he does not control the legislators over what they do.

According to Uba the PDP in Anambra state is still in tact, even as he denied that the lawmakers were divided overt the passage of the budget. He said that nobody would divide the party in the state.

He accused Governor Peter Obi of merely giving lame excuses for what described as his failure to perform.

Blaming the state Governement for the delay in the passage of the budget, Uba urged the Governement to do its home work very well by critically explaining to the lawmakers, the budget to enable them pass it.

He completely exornorated himself from the budget controversy in that state, saying the Government was trying by all means to bring his name in issues he knows nothing about.

"It is not true, these are the things opposition do in other to destroy PDP image and my own too. Do you know that up till today, the Federal Government, when it comes to budget, you have to definitely specify what you are going to do with the money. Don't say give me N10.00, and if you said that, you have to tell them what you are going to do with the N10.00. Everybody needs to know what you are going to do with the money. It is not my business to tell them how to pass the budget, they know how to do it.

"In legislative functions, when it comes to budget, you have the appropriation committee, people that are supposed to work on it. It has nothing to do with me. My goal is to move Anambra forward. I have never told any of them to fight the Governor on the budget.

"The Governor is doing that to show his inability to rule the state. He shouldn't use that as an excuse, all he needs to do is to sit down with them [law makers].This is the only state where we have 30 members of PDP, they have never harassed him, they have never done any thing bad to him to say that they need this or need that.

"In other states, they will remove him as a Governor, but we are not interested in impeachment. All we are interested in is for him as the Governor to do his work. Let him stop using excuses, every time his is calling my name, call PDP, every time he looks for somebody to hold on to, for his inefficiency.

"All he needs to do is sit down as a brother, I have interest in this state and he has also interest, so all of us must sit down to see how we can move the state forward.

"PDP has cooperated with 30 members, they are not fighting him, he is the one fighting them. Like I said, initially, he refused to recognize them but when he saw that it was difficult for him to do anything now he comes to them. He threatened them that tribunal is going to remove them but he is not God.

"For him holding on that PDP is saying they will not pass the budget, let him not pass false information to the people of Anambra State. Let him explain to these people what he wants to do with the budget.

"If you are putting N20m in road which road. Is it the road from Awka to Amawbia. He needs to explain to them so that tomorrow they can say they have N20m for this road but they did not see the road done.

"Now you say, you want to put N40 million for something; water but where, is it in Agulu let them know. Let him rise up and clear the issue and do his job.

"Law makers are not divided; it is just lack of communication. And it has been resolved.
