Angola: Benguela - Chieftains Trained On First Aid

Benguela — Chieftains of Chongoroi district, central Benguela province, attended, over the weekend, an upgrading course on first aid for the prevention of illnesses such as cholera, measles and poliomyelitis, ANGOP learnt.

Participants analysed topics such as "Nutritional assessment of children affected by famine resulting from droughts" and "Main factors to prevent cholera within the communities".

The counsellor of the World Health Organisation (Who) consultant in Benguela, Maria Aparecida da Silva said this event aims at reducing the rate of illnesses and revitalise the committees of fight against cholera.

Chongoroi's chieftain, Feliciano Kameia expressed satisfaction at the health programme and said he will pass the message to all regions under his tutelage.
