Some executive members of the Meme I CPDM Section might be sanctioned for insubordination.
This was the outcome of a meeting grouping all the Subsections of Meme I that took place at the party secretariat on March 20.
Prince Ekale Mukete, the Section President, in his address frowned at the attitude of militants who convened meeting without his knowledge. He cited his Vice President, Malam Ubah, and Secretary General, Charles Mukete, who recently signed a motion of support to the National Chairman without his knowledge.
Ekale said the two had no right to take decisions on behalf of militants without their knowledge. The militants would decide what sanctions to be meted on the recalcitrant executive members, according to Ekale.
The Section President further warned that any Subsection President or executive who intends to hold a meeting must inform him 15 days ahead. He said the agenda of the meeting must be forwarded to him for visa and nothing must be discussed out of the agenda during the meeting.
It should be noted that Ubah and Mukete, in their motion of support, signed by some Subsection Presidents, had condemned the recent strike in Kumba, condemning the destruction and burning of property by some irresponsible Cameroonians. They distanced themselves from such acts as CPDM militants.
This was reportedly done without the knowledge of all the executive members. In another perspective, Beatrice Ntubah, the WCPDM President recalled that during their national seminar that took place in Yaounde from February 7 to 8, it was announced that all militants should respect party hierarchy.
Reacting to the declaration to sanction, Ubah stated that Ekale has no right to sanction him. He accused the President of assuming much power, and said as Vice President, he has the right to send a motion of support.
According to him, a majority of the Subsection Presidents signed the motion of support.
